A group of four intruders stormed a home in Strathpine, about 40 minutes north of Brisbane, just after midnight on Tuesday, leaving a man stabbed and a luxury car ablaze.
The male occupant of the house was confronted by the intruders, who were armed with what appeared to be a firearm and a knife, police said.
The man was stabbed in the arm during the break-in, while a woman and children inside the home at the time were not physically injured.
The Fleeing Suspects and the Abandoned Car
The intruders allegedly fled the scene in a Mercedes, which was later found abandoned and on fire on nearby Sutherland Drive.
Emergency services treated the man for a minor arm injury before transporting him to hospital.
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
Police are urging anyone with CCTV footage or who may have seen the vehicle in the area to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Investigations are ongoing.
