Shocking footage has emerged of a stolen car flipping onto its roof after crashing into multiple parked cars in Melbourne’s southeast.
The Crash Scene
Police were called to reports of a black Subaru Forester smashing into two cars before rolling on Rooding St in Brighton around 9:45 pm on Monday.
Witnesses described the chaotic scene, with up to eight teenage girls fleeing the flipped car.
The Aftermath
Four teenage girls, aged 13 and 17, were arrested not long after the crash and taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The Subaru had been stolen from an address in Carnegie earlier on Monday night.
Owner’s Shocking Account
The owner of one of the cars that was struck by the allegedly stolen vehicle told 7NEWS she ran out of her home when she heard a massive bang.
“All my kids were like ‘what, what?’ We all ran out and all of a sudden the car was literally right across the whole road and there were all these kids inside going ‘I need my phone’, and they were carrying on and trying to get out,” Sarah said.
She described it as a miracle no one was seriously hurt.
Police Investigation
Police found a number of bottles of alcohol inside the car.
The teenage girls who were arrested were summonsed to face a children’s court at a later date.
Police are investigating the incident and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
