PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA – A moderate earthquake with a magnitude of 4.0 struck off the coast of Western Australia at approximately 10:45 am local time today, according to Geoscience Australia.
The tremors were felt by residents in several towns, including Mandurah, Augusta, Manjimup, and Margaret River.
The earthquake’s epicenter was located about 260 kilometers off the coast of Albany, with a depth of around 10 kilometers.
So far, Geoscience Australia has received six reports from people who experienced the quake.
This event comes on the heels of a 4.1 magnitude earthquake that hit regional New South Wales in the Upper Hunter region on Tuesday.
Earlier in October, a 5.0 magnitude earthquake rattled Victoria’s south-west.
No damage or casualties have been reported in connection with today’s earthquake.
