MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA – Magda Szubanski Inducted into Logie Hall of Fame Actor, comedian, and activist Magda Szubanski AO has been named the fifth female inductee into the TV Week Logie Awards Hall of Fame, recognized for her profound and influential contribution to Australian television culture.
Szubanski’s career, spanning nearly four decades, has seen her create some of Australia’s most beloved characters, including Sharon Strzelecki in the popular series Kath & Kim.
Her extensive industry credits include appearances in Babe, Happy Feet, The Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course, Bran Nue Dae, and numerous television shows.
A passionate advocate for LGBTQIA+ rights, Szubanski has been a vocal supporter of the community, speaking at the National Press Club and co-hosting Mardi Gras for SBS.
In 2018, she was awarded an Officer of the Order of Australia and later delivered the Hector Crawford Memorial Lecture in 2024.
Currently battling stage 4 Mantle Cell Lymphoma, Szubanski is not expected to attend the TV Week Logie Awards ceremony tomorrow night.
The event will air on Seven at 7 pm Sunday.
A highlight package celebrating Szubanski’s career will be showcased during the ceremony.
The Hall of Fame recognizes outstanding and continued contributions to Australian television culture by an individual, group, or program.
