Father Sentenced to 50 Years in Prison for Murder of 7-Year-Old Son Found Dead in Washing Machine In a tragic and disturbing case, a 45-year-old father was sentenced to 50 years in prison on Wednesday for the murder of his 7-year-old adopted son, whose lifeless body was found inside a washing machine in the family’s garage.
Jermaine Thomas was arrested in 2022 after reporting his son, Troy Khoeler, missing.
An investigation revealed that Troy had been subjected to physical abuse, and an autopsy showed that he had suffered both new and old injuries before his death, which was ruled a homicide.
According to prosecutors, Troy was threatened with being placed inside an oven after allegedly eating his adoptive mother’s oatmeal cream pies.
Text messages also revealed that Jermaine was upset after discovering that Troy had eaten his doughnut sticks.
Troy’s adoptive mother, Tiffany Thomas, has been charged in connection with his death, and her sentencing is set for September 10.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office has urged anyone with information about the case to come forward.
