Brisbane, Queensland – A targeted home invasion in Brisbane’s south-east has left two siblings injured after multiple shots were fired at their residence.
Authorities believe the attack, which occurred at approximately 4:40 a.m. today on Fisher Street in Rochedale, was deliberately directed at the victims.
The siblings, a brother and sister both in their 30s, were treated at Princess Alexandra Hospital and are currently in a stable condition.
Two men attempted to break into the home, firing multiple shots before fleeing the scene.
Witnesses reported seeing a white Mercedes without license plates driving erratically in the area shortly before the shooting.
The suspects were last seen fleeing the scene on foot.
The abandoned Mercedes was later discovered nearby with a jerry can left on the driver’s seat.
Investigators are urging anyone with footage of Fisher Road from 4 a.m. today or witnesses to come forward and assist in the investigation.
Family members and friends gathered at the scene, visibly distraught, but the siblings’ sister has reported that they are “alive” and doing well.
Authorities are appealing for public assistance in locating the suspects and are encouraging anyone with information to contact them.
The motive behind the targeted attack remains unclear, and the investigation is ongoing.
Individuals with information are encouraged to contact the Brisbane Police Department at `131 444` or submit footage and tips through the police website.
