TRARALGON, Victoria – A fatal road accident occurred in the Latrobe Valley on Tuesday morning, resulting in the death of an 18-year-old woman.
The incident took place on Latrobe River Road, near the Yallourn Power Station, under extremely foggy conditions.
The young woman, driving a red hatchback, collided with a white ute towing a trailer around 8:40 am.
The 27-year-old male driver of the ute sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.
Victoria Police’s Major Collision Unit has launched an investigation into the incident and will be present at the scene for most of the day.
Latrobe River Road remains closed in both directions as emergency services work to clear the area.
The authorities have appealed for public assistance in gathering information about the crash.
