David Roach, the lead singer of the rock band Junkyard, has passed away at the age of 59 after a courageous battle with aggressive squamous cell carcinoma.
The band confirmed his death in a statement on August 3, revealing that Roach had died peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones.
Roach’s tragic passing comes just weeks after he tied the knot with his wife Jennifer Roach in a casual ceremony last month.
The band had shared a heartfelt congratulations to the newlyweds on Instagram, posting a group photo as well as a photo of the happy couple.
In addition to his music, Roach was remembered by his fellow band members and fans for his kind spirit, infectious sense of humor, and devotion to his family.
A GoFundMe page was set up to support Roach’s family amid rising medical costs, with the band describing him as “a true friend to everyone he meets” who “has a knack for making people feel special and appreciated.”
Following Roach’s death, his bandmate Jimmy James shared a heartfelt tribute, posting a photo of the performer and writing, “Gone way too soon, rest in peace David.”
The music world is invited to share their condolences and memories of Roach.
Anyone wishing to pay their respects can visit the band’s social media pages or make a donation to the GoFundMe page set up in his honor.
