Home and Away to Bring Back Iconic Couple After Decade-Long Absence
After a 10-year hiatus, Australian soap opera Home and Away is set to welcome back two of its most beloved characters, Darryl “Brax” Braxton and Erica “Ricky” Sharpe, played by Stephen Peacocke and Bonnie Sveen, respectively.
The return of the iconic couple is part of a major storyline, filmed in partnership with Tourism Western Australia, which will explore where life has taken Brax and Ricky since they left Summer Bay together a decade ago.
The storyline is set to air on Channel 5 next year.
Filming to Take Place in Western Australia
Filming for the new storyline will commence in October, with several locations across Western Australia serving as the backdrop for Brax and Ricky’s latest adventures.
This marks a significant departure for the show, which has typically been set in Sydney’s northern beaches of Summer Bay for its entire 36-year history.
Cast Members Express Excitement Over Their Return
Stephen Peacocke, who played the charismatic leader of the River Boys, expressed his gratitude to Home and Away for launching his career and his appreciation for the fans who have followed his work since.
He described the opportunity to revisit Brax as “a fun opportunity” that he believes the audience will really enjoy.
Bonnie Sveen, who played Ricky for three years before leaving with Stephen in 2016, admitted she never expected to bring her character back.
However, she is thrilled to reunite with her old friends and explore where Ricky and Brax are now, 10 years on.
To celebrate the return of Brax and Ricky, Channel 5 and Tourism Western Australia are offering a special competition for fans, with a chance to win a trip to Western Australia’s Coral Coast and a behind-the-scenes experience on the Home and Away set.
