Fatal Head-On Collision Claims Two Lives in Canowindra
The incident occurred at approximately 2:20 pm on Sunday, 24 August 2025, when emergency services responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Canowindra Road, Canowindra.
Upon arrival, officers from Chifley Police District found that a B-double truck and a sedan had collided head-on, causing the truck to roll onto its side.
The driver of the sedan, a 67-year-old man, and his passenger, a 63-year-old woman, tragically died at the scene.
The 30-year-old truck driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital for mandatory testing following assessment by NSW Ambulance paramedics.
Investigation Underway
A crime scene was established, and an investigation is currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner’s information.
