California Man Dubbed ‘Butt-Sniffing Bandit’ Arrested Again for Lewd Behaviour
A 38-year-old registered sex offender has been arrested for the second time in less than a month in connection with alleged acts of lewd conduct in retail stores, police in Burbank, California, have confirmed.
The man, Calese Carron Crowder, was taken into custody on Wednesday, August 20, following an incident at a local Walgreens.
The most recent arrest occurred after employees at a Walgreens store contacted police to report a man allegedly sniffing a female customer’s buttocks.
Officers located and arrested Mr. Crowder several hours later, at approximately 10:45 pm, according to media reports. He was booked into the Los Angeles County jail early the next morning.
History of Similar Offenses
The incident follows a similar arrest on July 22, for which Mr. Crowder was charged with one count of loitering with intent to commit a crime.
In that case, Burbank Police responded to a report of a suspicious person at a Nordstrom Rack.
Officers later located him at a nearby Walmart, where they monitored him on store surveillance allegedly “crouching near her, and engaging in lewd behavior by inappropriately sniffing her buttocks.”
Authorities have stated that Mr. Crowder has a documented history of similar arrests for lewd conduct in the area dating back to 2021.
