Fresh $100 Energy Bill Rebate Now Available for Eligible Victorians
A new round of the Power Saving Bonus is now accessible to eligible concession card holders in Victoria, providing a one-off $100 rebate to help alleviate the cost of living.
The Victorian government announced the initiative as part of its $50 million cost-of-living promise, aiming to provide direct support to those in need.
The rebate is open to eligible households from August 25.
Eligibility and Application Process
To be eligible for the $100 Power Saving Bonus, Victorian households must hold a recent residential electricity bill and one of the following concession cards: Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card, or Veterans’ Affairs Pensioner Concession Card or Gold Card.
Renting households, including those in retirement villages or caravan parks, may also be eligible if they hold a concession card and an energy account with a matching address.
However, households that live off the grid and do not have a residential energy account are not eligible.
Businesses are also excluded from the rebate.
Applications can be made online through the Victorian Energy Compare website.
Successful applicants can expect to receive the payment within two to three weeks of submission.
Those preferring a cheque payment will receive it within four to six weeks.
Other Cost-of-Living Support in the Victorian Budget
The Victorian budget also included other initiatives to alleviate the cost of living, including $320 million to deliver free public transport for under 18s and free statewide public transport for seniors on weekends.
