Centrelink Cash Bonanza: Millions of Aussies to Receive Up to $29.70 More in Fortnightly Payments from September 20

In just one week, millions of Australians will wake up to a welcome surprise in their bank accounts. Centrelink payments for those receiving the Age Pension, JobSeeker, and other benefits will increase from September 20, providing a much-needed boost to their fortnightly income.
**Tanya Plibersek**, the Social Services Minister, said the changes would allow people to cover everyday costs like groceries and healthcare. “The social security system must be grounded in fairness, which is why we adjust supports as the economy changes,” she said.
For **Age Pension** recipients, the maximum fortnightly payment will increase to $1,178.70, a rise of $29.70. Partnered pensions will also see an increase, with the maximum fortnightly payment rising to $888.50 each.
**JobSeeker** rates will increase to $793.60 per fortnight for singles aged 22 or over with no children, while the partnered JobSeeker rate will rise to $726.50 each per fortnight.
Other benefits, including **ABSTUDY**, **Parenting Payment**, and **Commonwealth Rent Assistance**, will also see increases, ranging from $3.40 to $16.20.
**Patricia Sparrow**, CEO of the Council on the Ageing (COTA) Australia, welcomed the age pension increase, saying it was one of the biggest lifts to the rate over recent years.
