BREAKING: Ben, Liam and Belle AXED from Nova Radio in Shocking Move – What’s Next for the Beloved Trio?
- Popular national radio show Late Drive with Ben, Liam & Belle to wrap up in December
- The trio, including Ben Harvey, Liam Stapleton, and Belle Jackson, hosted their last breakfast show on Nova 100 before being shunted to the 6-8pm timeslot
- Their future in the industry remains uncertain amidst a shrinking market for radio personalities
Ben Harvey, Liam Stapleton, and Belle Jackson, the beloved hosts of Nova’s national radio show Late Drive, have been axed from the network in a shocking move. The popular trio, known for their witty banter and infectious chemistry, have been told their services will no longer be required in 2026.
In a statement, Nova confirmed that Late Drive with Ben, Liam & Belle, which airs nationally from 6-8pm weekdays, will wrap up in December. The trio will host their final show on Friday, December 12.
“Since joining Nova in 2020, Ben, Liam and Belle have made a significant impact both on air and beyond,” the statement said. “A hugely talented team and valued members of the Nova family, they have delivered excellent results for Nova and developed a unique connection to their audience.”
The axing comes as a surprise, given the trio’s success on the network. Ben Harvey and Liam Stapleton landed their first big gig in 2017 when they took over as hosts of triple j breakfast. After three years, they announced they were leaving triple j to host a breakfast show on Nova in Adelaide.
“At Triple J we definitely got very comfortable,” the pair told news.com.au at the time. “If you’re too comfortable that can be a bit of a worry because you start to cruise, and we didn’t want to cruise.”
Their producer, Belle Jackson, joined the show as a co-host and their program was renamed Ben, Liam & Belle. However, their time on air was cut short when they were victims of a major radio shake-up in 2023.
It’s unclear what the future holds for Ben, Liam, and Belle, but in an industry with shrinking opportunities, finding their next gig won’t be easy.
