- The dogs, still on the loose, have sparked concern among parents and residents in the area
In a shocking incident that has left a Sydney community reeling, three children were attacked by two roaming dogs near a school in Marsden Park. The terrifying ordeal was captured on CCTV footage, showing the dogs rushing towards the children as they walked home from school.
The attack occurred on Tuesday afternoon, just before 3pm, on Glennabbey St, a short walk from St Luke’s Catholic College and three other schools. The dogs, whose whereabouts are still unknown, targeted two schoolgirls who were walking hand-in-hand, leaving them screaming in terror.
“She was screaming and screaming and running around and fell down and the dog kept attacking,” a witness described the horrifying scene.
About ten minutes later, the dogs turned on another young boy, sparking widespread concern among parents and residents in the area.
Blacktown Council has assured that it takes reports of dog attacks seriously, but the incident has raised questions about the measures in place to prevent such attacks.
The incident is the latest in a series of dog attacks in recent weeks, including the death of 17-year-old Annalyse Blyton, who was mauled by a large mixed-breed dog in Singleton earlier this month. A five-month-old puppy, Wuwu, was also killed by three dogs at a dog park in Auburn, Sydney, last week.
The string of attacks has sparked a renewed call for action to prevent such incidents, with many calling for stricter regulations and greater vigilance in the community.
