A quiet suburban street in Port Pirie South has been left in a state of shock and horror after a woman was charged with the alleged murder of her partner in their home.
Emergency services were called to the Dorothy St address about 2.15pm on Friday, where they found the 52-year-old man lying unconscious. Despite desperate attempts by paramedics to revive him, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to police, the 42-year-old woman, believed to be the man’s partner who lived with him at the home, was arrested and has since been charged with murder.
As the investigation continues, detectives from the Major Crime Investigation Branch and officers from the Forensic Response Section have travelled to the scene to assist with the ongoing probe into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
“We urge anyone with information that can assist the investigation to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers,” a police spokesperson said.
The community is still reeling from the shocking incident, with many neighbours and locals left in a state of disbelief.
