- At least one of! the packages burst in his stomach, causing a fatal overdose
In a devastating turn of events, a young British man has died after swallowing multiple packets of cocaine in a desperate bid to smuggle drugs. Jensen Westhead, just 20 years old, was found dead in his hotel room in Dubai on December 4, 2024, the day after flying out from Manchester Airport.
According to investigators, Mr Westhead swallowed “a number of packages of cocaine” at a hotel in Manchester on December 2, 2024, before boarding a flight to Dubai.
Tragically, at least one of the packages leaked into his body, causing a fatal overdose.
Experts have warned that even a single rupture can be fatal, as the concentrated drug rapidly enters the bloodstream.
This is not the first time a “body packer” has lost their life in a similar circumstance.
In 2019, British teacher Victoria Buchanan, 42, died after swallowing a bag of cocaine at Manchester Airport before boarding a flight to Dubai.
Dubai authorities are now working closely with UK police to determine how Mr Westhead became involved in the alleged smuggling attempt and whether a wider network played a role.
Four people – Rebecca Hacth, 43, Glenn Hatch, 50, Alexander Tofton, 32, and Steven Stephenson, 36 – have been charged over the death of the young British man.
