In a shocking and disturbing development, an Australian racing driver has been accused of raping one of Michael Schumacher’s nurses at the F1 legend’s family mansion in Switzerland. The alleged attack occurred in November 2019, and the accused driver was due to stand trial this week, but he failed to appear.
The allegations, first reported by 24heures, claim that the unnamed Australian man, a friend of Schumacher’s son Mick, attacked the nurse in an upstairs bedroom at Schumacher’s family home in Gland, Switzerland. The nurse, who is reportedly in her 30s, was part of the live-in medical team caring for Schumacher after the devastating skiing accident in 2013 that left the seven-time F1 world champion bedridden with severe injuries.
According to reports, the alleged attack occurred after a night of heavy drinking, and the nurse allegedly passed out before being taken to the upstairs bedroom. The accused driver reportedly claimed that he had kissed the nurse during a previous night out, but the alleged victim denies that there was ever a consensual relationship.
The lawyers for both parties, Patrick Michod for the victim and Luc Vaney for the alleged perpetrator, declined to comment on the allegations. No members of the Schumacher family are implicated in the allegations.
Schumacher, 56, has not been seen in public since the horrific skiing accident over 10 years ago. The fresh allegations will undoubtedly come as a shock to his fans and the motorsport community, which has been closely following his health updates.
