In a shocking turn of events, a young man has lost his life and another is clinging to life following a suspected brawl at a park in NSW’s Northern Rivers region.

Tragically, just hours later, the body of a 25-year-old man was found on a walking track near Fischer St in Goonellabah, about 6:20am. Police were quickly alerted and a crime scene was established on the walking track.
Investigators believe the two men may have been involved in a violent altercation at Clifford Park, near Cassia Crescent in Lismore, earlier that morning. “We are still piecing together the events of that night,” a police spokesperson said. “We urge anyone with information to come forward.”
The community is reeling from the double tragedy, with locals left to wonder how such a senseless act of violence could occur in their quiet neighbourhood. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of violence and the importance of resolving conflicts peacefully.
As the investigation continues, residents are being urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities. The identity of the deceased man has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.
