In a heartbreaking development, police have confirmed their worst fears about the disappearance of mother-of-two Angie Fuller, who vanished in the Central Australian outback almost three years ago. Despite an extensive search effort, Angie’s fate remains a mystery, and detectives now believe she was met with foul play.
“We believe there are people in the community who have information or knowledge about what happened to Angie,” said Detective Superintendent Drew Slape, who is leading the investigation. “We are quite confident that the only conclusion we can draw is that she was met with foul play and that she’s been murdered.”
The last confirmed sighting of Angie was at a petrol station on the outskirts of Alice Springs on January 9, 2023. She was reported missing two days later, sparking a large-scale search effort through rugged terrain in the Tanami Desert. Despite the efforts of police and emergency services, Angie was never located.
In a message of hope to Angie’s family, Detective Superintendent Slape assured them that “this is a very serious investigation” and that “police will leave no stone unturned in the investigation”. He added, “I give my assurances, we will not stop until we have answers for Angie, for her family and for the community.”
Angie is described as being of Asian heritage, about 165 centimetres tall, with a medium build and long black hair. She was last seen wearing a black T-shirt and beige skirt. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
The investigation into Angie’s disappearance is ongoing, with detectives from the Major Crimes Squad working tirelessly to piece together the events surrounding her vanishing. As the search for answers continues, police are urging anyone with information to come forward and help bring justice to Angie’s loved ones.
