Festive celebrations turned to tragedy on Christmas Eve when a car carrying three teenagers crashed into a tree on the NSW Mid North Coast, killing one and leaving two others fighting for their lives.
The devastating incident occurred on Diamond Head Road at Coralville, about 35km north of Taree, at approximately 2.45pm on Wednesday. Emergency services were alerted, but one of the teenagers had sadly passed away by the time they arrived at the scene.
Paramedics worked tirelessly to treat the driver and another passenger, who were subsequently airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a critical but stable condition. The exact ages of the three teenage males involved have not been confirmed, but police have confirmed they were all youngsters.
