ALDI’S GAME-CHANGER: Beloved Special Buys Collection Now Available on DoorDash – But There’s a Catch!

In a move that’s set to revolutionise the way Aussies shop, Aldi has announced that its legendary Special Buys collection will be available on DoorDash from January 7 in Victoria, and January 21 nationwide. The partnership, which began in 2025, has already given customers the power to pick up groceries with just a few taps on their phone.
According to Aldi Australia group director Simon Padovani-Ginies, the partnership with DoorDash has been a “gamechanger” for shoppers, giving them greater access to the Aldi experience. “Our Aldi Special Buys have become almost ritualistic to some shoppers, who mark their calendars and scour our catalogues regularly for products they will certainly be excited about,” he said.
But there’s a catch – some items will be excluded from the DoorDash offering, including anything that requires a two-person lift. And while there won’t be any purchase limits, some items will come with a higher price tag on the app than in-store.
Simon Rossi, vice president of DoorDash APAC, said the move would bring the Aldi experience to a whole new level. “Aldi’s famous middle aisle and its unique products have long drawn shoppers to Aldi stores on Wednesday and Saturday mornings… Now these products will be conveniently available to customers for the first time ever, through on-demand delivery.”
Victorian shoppers will be among the first to get their hands on the Back-To-School Special Buys range, which includes everything from school shoes to hair accessories and study timer lockboxes. But remember – like in stores, the Special Buys collection will only be available on DoorDash while stocks last!
