The police have released images of the items belonging to a woman whose corpse was discovered at a popular Gold Coast beach.
Emergency services were dispatched to The Spit at around 9 am after a member of the public reported the body.
The woman, who is believed to be in her 50s to 60s, is described as Asian.
The woman was wearing a pink, black, and red swimsuit.
Her death isn’t considered suspicious, and the police are appealing for anyone who may have seen or heard anything about the incident to come forward.
According to Gold Coast Lifeguard Chris Maynard, a member of the community spotted the woman in shallow water and immediately started CPR.
There were reportedly several people walking near the beach when the incident occurred.
Mr Maynard said it was not clear where the woman might have entered the water.
He noted that lifeguards had been busy due to the unstable surf conditions.
During February and March, the Gold Coast gets several large Easterly swells, which can create strong currents and rips near the shore.
A 66-year-old tourist from Hungary died at Broadbeach after he was pulled from the water.
The woman’s identity has not yet been confirmed by the police.
