More than a month after Samantha Murphy, a mother of three, went missing in Ballarat, investigators are turning to technology to find her.
According to a report in The Herald Sun, they are examining the data from the mobile devices of other people who reportedly used the same tower as her phone.
As part of their investigation, the police are looking into the activities of individuals who were in the Woowookarung Regional Park at the same time as Murphy.
This new approach was revealed on Monday morning on Sunrise, with reporter Hope Wilson talking about the developments.
Four weeks have passed since Murphy went missing.
On Monday, Wilson noted that the police are analyzing the data from the people’s mobile devices to see what they were doing in the area at the time of her disappearance.
The investigators will then look into the backgrounds of the individuals who were with her.
The case has baffled the investigators, and there have been few leads in the search for Murphy.
According to a report, her phone was allegedly pinged in the afternoon of the day she went missing.
The information helped the police to narrow their search area, but they have not found any sign of her.
Since she went missing on February 4, the investigators have been working on the case with a lot of security vision and around 700 pieces of information.
Since Murphy was reported missing a month ago, the police have been struggling to find out what happened to her on the day she disappeared.
Three weeks after she was reported missing, the police stated that her disappearance was considered suspicious.
