Almost six months after restructuring practitioners were appointed to oversee Golden West Brewing Company in Perth, the company has gone into administration.
A meeting with creditors will be held on March 12. Mathieu Tribut of GTS Advisory was appointed as the administrator.
The company, which was known for its smooth Bourbon Vanilla Porter, closed its doors last week.
According to an article by The Crafty Pint, which is an industry publication, the company is looking to sell its assets.
It was able to take home multiple awards at the Royal Perth Food Awards.
According to Tribut, Golden West was in talks with a potential buyer for the business.
In August last year, the company underwent a restructuring process. The process was reportedly successful.
Due to the declining sales this year, the company ran out of cash, which prompted it to appoint an administrator.
Tribut said the business could reopen in about eight weeks. He also noted that the brewery could still remain open under a different name.
One of the company’s staff members said that they were informed about the news during a meeting.
Another staff member criticized the company for its silence on social media regarding the closure.
They also noted that the staff members put up a sign outside the business to inform customers about the closure.
