A renewed search for Samantha Murphy, who has been missing since February 4, failed to find any sign of her on Wednesday afternoon.
After six hours of searching, the police called off the operation at around 3pm.
The officers and detectives who conducted the search were assisted by a dog squad and a number of motorbikes.
According to police, the area they focused their attention on was highlighted by intelligence.
They said they would likely resume the search in the coming weeks.
Although police were not able to provide additional details about the intelligence they gathered regarding Murphy’s case, they noted that they would most likely resume the search efforts in the following weeks.
On Wednesday, the public was asked to avoid the area where the search operation was conducted.
The last time Murphy was seen was on February 4, when she left her home at around 7am to run in the Woowookung Regional Park.
This region, which is located near her property in the eastern fringe of Ballarat, is known as the Canadian Forest.
