A search for Samantha Murphy in a new area of scrubland near Buninyong ended without finding evidence of her disappearance.
The police activity, which began on Wednesday morning, was prompted by new intelligence.
A number of search and rescue units, as well as off-road motorcyclists, were deployed to comb the area.
People were asked to stay away from the scrubland, which was close to the Buninyong Golf Club.
A spokesperson for the police said that the search effort, which lasted until the afternoon, did not find the missing woman.
However, the force still plans on conducting further searches over the coming weeks.
The search was then conducted in Mount Clear, which is close to Ms Murphy’s home.
However, it did not find any sign of the missing woman. The police spokesperson said that the new search area was identified based on information from multiple sources.
The mother of three was last seen on February 4 after she failed to return home following a run.
Mark Hatt, the acting detective superintendent, said that the police would do everything in its power to find Ms. Murphy and bring her back to her family.
However, he asked the public to stay away from the search effort as the police were conducting their own search.
Hopefully, the search effort will help the police in their investigation.
They also plan on conducting further searches in the area around Ballarat. On March 6, Mr. Stephenson was charged with the murder of Ms Murphy. He was ordered to stay in custody until his next appearance on August 8th.
The police claim that the son of Orren Stephenson, a former player of the Australian Football League, deliberately murdered Ms. Murphy.
