It’s likely that people planning on attending Easter activities in the Northern Territory and Queensland this weekend will have to put away their barbecues.
According to Weather Zone, a band of cloud will cover the regions from Friday until the end of the week.
It’s caused by a trough that’s located over the Queensland and NT and remnants of Tropical Cyclone Megan.
It was reported that the weather conditions will be very unfavorable for the region, with showers likely to occur in the Brisbane and surrounding areas over the Easter holiday.
According to Bow, the cloud band is the reason why many people are not going to be able to enjoy the sunshine on the Gold Coast over the holiday.
Over the past 24 hours, the Gold Coast hinterland has received over 120mm of rain, while Mt Tambourine recorded 76mm.
More rain is expected to fall over the next couple of days. It’s also expected to cause some road conditions to become very hazardous. In Brisbane, on Good Friday, the temperature is expected to reach 27 degrees Celsius.
On Easter Saturday, the temperature is expected to reach 28 degrees Celsius, with showers possible in the afternoon.
