Even the best of drivers can get drowsy at the wheel.
That’s why a man fell asleep behind the wheel of his Mercedes on Monday afternoon in Melbourne, causing traffic to pile up for around 20 minutes.
His passenger also fell asleep at the same time, and a search was carried out after he failed to cooperate with police.
Motorists called the cops to report the incident at Belgrave-hallam Road.
According to the police, paramedics attempted to wake up the driver, but he still didn’t follow their instructions.
A video taken by 7 News showed an officer telling the man to turn off his car’s engine.
The officer then ordered the driver to exit the vehicle, but he didn’t follow their instructions and drove away.
It’s believed that no one tried to block the car, and the driver was able to get away from the cops, as well as paramedics and other motorists who were nearby.
The police are currently looking for the driver, and they told Yahoo News that the car that was involved in the incident had also been reported to them earlier.
The police are now asking witnesses to come forward and share their information with them.
They’re also urging people who took footage using their CCTV or dashcam to contact Crime Stoppers.
