Madison Dansey, a grieving mother from Perth, is seeking answers after her infant son died at the hospital.
She claims that doctors failed to take her concerns seriously until he was too sick to survive. The health service claimed that it followed proper procedures.
On Wednesday, Louis would have been one-year-old. Instead, his family is mourning his death.
According to Dansey, he was a happy and sweet boy who loved his older brother. Unfortunately, he was always sick.
Louis had also been experiencing seizures. Dansey asked the doctors at the hospital for help, but she claims that they did not take her concerns seriously.
He had been admitted to the facility a dozen times over the course of 10 months.
According to Dansey, the doctors did not take her concerns seriously.
They only treated his symptoms and did not try to find a cause for his constant illness.
After taking Louis to the hospital, the staff conducted genetic tests. He was then referred to a neurologist.
Louis was not able to attend the appointment. Advocates said that parents can call the hospital’s 24-hour care line to speak with a dedicated staff member if they feel that their concerns are being ignored.
A spokesperson for the Health Consumers Council explained that these are separate teams that can help parents navigate the various options available to them in the hospital.
These teams are also supposed to listen to and review your concerns, as well as escalate your treatment. The health service, on the other hand, claims that they followed proper procedures in every instance. However, Dansey claims that the system failed her.
According to Dansey, if the hospital had taken her concerns seriously, she believes that her son would still be alive today.
