Samuel Davies, an Australian actor, revealed in a TikTok clip that he had to have his sleeve tattoo removed after Netflix rejected him for his role as Tommy Merlyn, the body double of actor Colin Donnell in the TV series Arrow.
The streaming company reportedly changed their minds after they didn’t want to cover his tattoos on set every day.
In the video, he talked about his desire to keep his tattoos but said that he had to have them removed due to his new gimmick.
He stated that he decided to pursue acting after shifting from a career in finance.
He then got a job as the main actor’s body double in a Netflix series.
He said that the company decided not to hire him as the body double because they didn’t like the idea of covering his tattoos.
So he started the process of getting them removed two years ago. According to him, he spent around $500 to $600 for each session.
He spent $10,000 on his sleeve tattoo. He will have the traces of his work removed at the same price.
The actor noted that it usually takes around eight weeks for the healing process to take place. But he still needs to go through more sessions to get the entire thing removed.
Davies noted that the longer he waited, the more his body would start to eat away at his ink. He also talked about the various meanings behind his tattoos.
Davies revealed that he had gone through six painful sessions in the last couple of years.
Each session cost him around $500 to $600. He also had artwork made in honor of two of his idols, Kobe Bryant and Bruce Lee.
Despite being rejected by Netflix for his role in the series Arrow, Davies is still determined to pursue his acting career.
He noted that he has already been cast in more films. The actor’s fans have commended him for his dedication to his work.
He also noted that his ink is starting to fade away, making it easier to conceal his work. He has appeared in a couple of films and a few TV shows.
