Robert Ovadia, a veteran journalist for the Seven Network, was placed on administrative leave this week while the company investigates an allegation that he made inappropriate remarks toward a female colleague.
He is currently a fill-in presenter on the network’s flagship program, Seven News.
A spokesperson for the network confirmed the situation to the Daily Telegraph.
According to the report, the 62-year-old journalist was placed on leave after an allegation was made against him.
He has reportedly been represented by legal counsel.
This morning, the network confirmed that Mr Ovadia had been placed on administrative leave.
He had earlier told the Sydney MorningHerald that he was not aware that a complaint had been made against him.
However, he noted that he had not been stood down from his job.
In response to the allegation, Mr Ovadia said that he would defend himself and that any suggestion that he had behaved inappropriately was false.
The woman who made the complaint worked in a behind-the scenes role at the network.
According to reports, the incident allegedly happened after she sent him a text message.
