It has been reported that the backpack of Michael Mosley, a well-known television doctor, was found close to his body in Greece.
Mosley, who was 67 years old, was last seen leaving his friends and family at the Agios Nikolaos Beach on Wednesday.
Journalists and locals were able to find him near the Agia Marina on the island of Symi on Sunday.
His widow, Dr. Clare Bailey Mosley, said that her husband was almost made to safety after going on a walk in the heat.
Pictures taken from the area where his backpack was found showed investigators examining it.
They also found an umbrella that he was using to shield himself from the sun.
Mosley was last seen on Wednesday afternoon walking in the area known as Pedi on Symi.
This prompted a missing persons report to be filed. His body was discovered by staff members of a bar after a local cameraman and a mayor spotted it from a boat.
According to reports, Mosley had reportedly climbed an incredible mountain and took the wrong path.
He then collapsed and died while he was unable to be easily spotted by emergency responders.
An initial investigation by a coroner ruled out foul play, but further tests will be carried out on his body to establish the cause of death.
In her statement, Dr. Clare Mosley described her husband as a kind, funny, and brilliant individual.
She also stated that they had a very lucky life together. She added that she was proud of their children.
The outpouring of love and support from people from all around the world has been comforting for the Mosley family.
It has shown that Michael was very much loved by his many fans.
The news of his death shocked his friends and colleagues, who praised him for his innovation in the field of health and science broadcasting.
One of his colleagues on the BBC’s Trust Me, Dr. Chris Van Tulleken, referred to him as one of the most prominent figures in the industry over the past few decades.
He also praised his kindness to his colleagues.
