According to Greek authorities, two tourists from the US and the Netherlands have reportedly disappeared while on a hiking trip in the country.
The tragic incident occurred just days after the lifeless body of Michael Mosley, a British television doctor, was discovered on the island of Symi.
Albert Calibet, 59, of the US, reportedly disappeared while on a hiking trip on the island of Amorgos, which is located in the western part of Greece.
According to Popi Despotidi, the deputy mayor of the municipality of Amorgos, Calibet had been coming to the island for about a decade.
On the Samos, an elderly Dutch tourist went missing on Sunday.
The island’s rescue team said that the man reportedly went missing while he was hiking in the area of Marathokampou.
The local residents have also joined the search efforts.
A spokesperson for Greece’s police said that the country’s emergency services and volunteers have been searching for the two men.
Mosley, who popularized the 5:2 diet, was reportedly on the island to visit a local monastery when he disappeared.
His wife reported him missing after he failed to return home after a walk.
The body was discovered several days after he went missing
