A woman fighting for her life in a hospital in Queensland, Australia, reportedly woke up from a coma following a fatal car crash that killed her husband and two of her kids.

Phil and Krystal Harris were on their way to visit their children when their car was hit by a Land Cruiser ute on Dalby Jandowae Road, Jimbour East, at around 11 am on Monday.

The Harris family was on their way to Dalby after returning from Jandowae, where they live.

Ocean, 15, and Warrior 8, were in the back seat when the accident occurred.

Both of them died at the scene. The driver of the vehicle, 54-year-old Phil Harris, was also killed at the scene.

She was flown to a hospital after suffering various injuries, including multiple chest, arm, and abdominal wounds.

According to a report by Daily Mail, Ms. Harris woke up from a coma and is expected to undergo a back surgery later this week.

Her mother, who was conscious during the incident, reportedly learned that her husband and children died.

According to a family friend, the tragic incident has left the Harris family in a state of shock.

The Chronicle reported that Mr Harris was trying to help a road worker when the accident occurred.

He was reportedly reversing his vehicle along Dalby-Jandowae Road.

Storm Reddacliff, Ms. Harris’ son, disputed reports that he was reversing his vehicle when the accident occurred.

He claimed that the ute hit the car and killed them. He referred to his family as the “shinning light” of his life in a GoFundMe statement.

The man who was behind the wheel of the Land Cruiser ute was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The incident is being handled by the forensic crash unit of the Queensland Police.

The police are urging residents of the state to be more careful on the roads due to the number of fatalities this year.
