Matthew Perry, the actor who starred in the TV show Friends, died due to the effects of ketamine, and multiple people could be charged as a result.

According to a report by People, the investigation into his death is close to its conclusion, and law enforcers believe that multiple people should be held accountable.

The US Attorney’s Office is reportedly going to make a decision regarding whether or not to charge anyone in connection with the death of Perry.

A spokesperson for this office told The Independent that they have no comment on the matter. Around seven months after Perry died, an investigation was carried out regarding who supplied him with the illicit drug.

The agency that handles drug investigations declined to comment on the ongoing probes.

Perry was found dead in his Pacific Palisades home on October 28, 2023.

A toxicology report revealed that he died due to the severe effects of ketamine, which caused him to drown in the hot tub.

According to his friends, Perry was taking ketamine for his anxiety and depression.

However, prior to his death, he had completed an infusion of the drug around a month before.

According to the coroner, the amount of ketamine in his system could not have been from the therapy.

In December, his autopsy report revealed that the level of the drug in his blood was within the range that can be used for general anesthesia.

The LA County medical examiner’s report stated that drowning was the primary cause of Perry’s death.

Other contributing factors included coronary artery disease and the effects of buprenorphine.

The law enforcers are now looking into the possibility that Perry received drugs from a second source.

According to a report by TMZ, the authorities are searching for the individual who may have supplied the actor with the illicit substance.

The law enforcers believe they could help them identify the person who provided Perry with the illicit substance by using their tracking software.

Since no arrests have been made, the investigation is still ongoing.

The US Postal Inspection Service is also conducting a similar investigation, using its expertise and equipment to examine first-class packages and letters.

These types of letters and parcels are protected from being seized or searched under the Fourth Amendment.

The actor’s drug problem started after he got into a jet ski accident in 1997.

He then became addicted to Vicodin, which is a powerful opioid painkiller.

Throughout his life, he reportedly spent millions of dollars on his recovery efforts.

He also reportedly attended thousands of Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.

In his 2022 memoir, Perry talked about his struggles with addiction.
