On Tuesday, five police officers were taken to the hospital after a man died following his arrest by the police in Kyneton.
The incident happened when the officers went to a house on Windridge Way to carry out an investigation.
The man, who was 27 years old, became unresponsive while the officers were at the scene, and they called for help.
However, he later died. Five of the responding officers were taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
It’s believed that the man might have ingested some type of substance.
Homicide Squad detectives will handle the investigation.
It’s standard procedure when an individual dies while in police custody.
