Anthony Rocca, a former player for the Collingwood football team, revealed that he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

The 46-year old said that he was experiencing severe back pain at night, which prompted him to take immediate action.

Northern Knights coach Anthony Rocca asked Dr. Ruben Branson, a Collingwood doctor, for advice after experiencing severe back pain.

The 46-year-old said that he was immediately diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and vowed to beat the illness.

Although no one likes to be told about an illness, Anthony said that he is the type of person who deals with it head on.

He was initially surprised by his diagnosis and asked a lot of questions about his treatment.

He decided to step down from his position as the Knights’ coach to focus on his health.

His wife Enza and his children, 14-year old Max and 18-year old Mia, will support him during his fight against the disease.

Anthony said that he is very confident that his cancer is very treatable. He was informed that the disease is a common type of lymphoma.
