Two pilots died when two choppers collided and crashed in Western Australia’s Kimberley region on Thursday.

Emergency services were dispatched to the Mount Anderson Station after the aircraft took off from the area at around 6:00 am.

According to the WA Police, the two pilots had only been on board when the incident occurred.

The two men, who were 30 and 29 years old, died due to the injuries they sustained during the incident.

The Mount Anderson Station is an Indigenous-owned cattle facility. Its operator, the Kimberley Pastoral Company, identified the incident as tragic.

Its chairperson, Wayne Bergmann, noted that the investigation into the cause of the incident is still ongoing.

Mr. Bergmann expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased pilots and said that the company is providing all its support to the employees of the Mount Anderson Station

. The WA Police noted that the incident has been referred to the Transport Safety Bureau.
