In order to keep the government informed about their travel plans, Centrelink has reminded recipients that there are rules about how their card can be affected when they travel outside of Australia.

The organization said that it can either stop or adjust the card based on these guidelines.

To keep up with the latest updates about their account, Centrelink users should check their account through myGov or contact the department directly.

To report an issue with their card, Centrelink users can contact the number provided by the organization.

Prior to traveling, recipients should report their earnings once the last business day has passed.

Centrelink also noted that this requirement should be enforced even if the users’ reporting day falls on a different day.

Individuals who are traveling to see a partner overseas should inform the government so that Centrelink can review their payments before they leave.

If they are going to be visiting their partner, Centrelink noted that it would have to examine your payment to make sure that it is not too much.

If they are not able to reach you while you are outside of Australia, your card or payment may be stopped.

If your payment has been stopped while you’re overseas, Centrelink noted that it would have to wait for you to return to Australia before it can restore it.

However, it’s important to inform the organization if your situation changes.

You don’t have to tell Centrelink when you return to Australia, as this information can affect your concession card or payment.

If you’re traveling to an overseas country for a year or more, your Centrelink payments will continue to be made every two weeks.

On the other hand, if you’re going to be staying in the country for a longer period of time, your payments can be extended every four weeks.

You can pay for your Centrelink payments overseas using a local currency or US dollar.

If you’re affected by a serious issue while you’re overseas, such as a natural disaster or an illness, Centrelink can extend your payments but require you to contact the organization’s international services team.
