A powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 6.8 has hit the Philippines.

It occurred at 11.23pm local time and was felt across Mindanao, which is the country’s second-largest island.

The country’s seismology agency PHIVOLCS stated that it did not expect any damage from the quake, but it also warned of aftershocks. T

he US’ National Tsunami Warning Center said there was no threat of a tsunami.
