A man is in critical condition after falling from a waterfall in Queensland, Australia.

According to reports, the man fell from a height of around three meters at Crystal Cascades on Sunday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 3.20 pm.

The man, who was in his 30s and reportedly from the city of Cairns, was rushed to the hospital with serious head injuries.

The incident was handled by the fire department, which launched a rescue operation to pull the man out of the thick bush.

A spokesperson for the department said that emergency responders helped the man get on a stretcher.

According to a spokesperson for the Queensland Ambulance Service, the man fell from a ledge while he was on his way to the Crystal Cascades, which is a popular tourist destination.

Unfortunately, this area has also experienced tragic incidents. In March, a tourist died after he jumped from a ledge at the waterfall.

The body of the 20-year-old man was recovered the following night.

He reportedly spent about eight minutes in the water before he fell.

It is believed that he was swimming in a no-swim area at the top portion of the waterfall.
