A young mother was reportedly attacked by a group of dogs while she was pushing her baby pram in Melbourne.
Her screams alerted her neighbours, who then attended to her injuries.
There were multiple blood-covered areas in her body, including her arms, legs, elbows, hands, and ankles.
According to Mark Jackson, he saw the incident during a Friday afternoon.
At around 3 pm, emergency responders were called to a report of an animal attack.
The woman was then taken to The Alfred by an ambulance.
A couple of hours later, animal control officials arrived at a nearby residence to seize four dogs.
The police believed that the rangers had taken the dogs, but Hume City Council said they could not because they required a court order.
Witnesses said the animals regularly roam free and attack people.
On the same day, three dogs mauled a 71-year old woman on Heysen Dr., leaving her with serious injuries.
The woman suffered multiple injuries, including bite wounds on her legs, face, and back.
She was then taken to the hospital. Two men who tried to stop the attack were also injured.
The dogs were later captured and taken away. A group member from Sunbury claimed on Facebook that the animals were responsible for the incident.
It was not clear if the animals were mixed breeds or staffies.
The Hume City Council and the Victoria Police will determine the fate of the animals.
Sheena Frost, the council’s chief executive, said that the council was aware of the incident in Sunbury.
The council noted that it was working with the police on the matter.
It also said that all the animals have been taken away.
The council expressed its condolences to the victims and wished them a quick recovery.
