The father of a Sydney girl who committed suicide after years of being bullied said she wrote a farewell message in her Father’s Day card.

Charlotte O’Brien, 12, died on September 9, after she reportedly took her own life due to the harassment and constant bullying she had endured at Santa Sabina College.

On Friday, friends and family of Charlotte attended her funeral at the Mary Immaculate Catholic Church. The girl’s coffin was adorned with flowers and butterflies.

Mat, her father, expressed his love for her and thanked her for being a part of his family.

During the service, Mat expressed his gratitude for Charlotte’s kindness and bravery. He also thanked her for letting him take her mother out on their first date.

He said that he was under strict instructions to ask Charlotte’s approval, and he was finally able to get it.

Mat said that there wasn’t enough time to talk about Charlotte, who he described as a beautiful and kind soul. Instead, he decided to read her touching message from his Father’s Day card.

The card and present that Mat received from Charlotte came from the heart. In her handwriting, she wrote that he was more than a captain. She also said that he was like the sea and that he was a powerful and calm person.

In her card, Charlotte said that she was like a surfer who takes confidence in her ability to ride the waves while learning how to trust and enjoy the ride. She also thanked her father for teaching her how to navigate her life successfully.

Mat said that Charlotte was a kind and beautiful person who loved being loved. Her parents also loved her back.

Kelly, her mother, said that her daughter brought love and joy into her life from the very beginning. She said that she felt like she had found her soulmate moments after becoming her mother.

According to her mother, Charlotte was the sweetest, kindest, smartest, and most fun-loving child she had ever known. Every moment she had with her was full of laughter and fun, and she loved going to the beach and swimming.

During a recent interview, Kelly revealed that her daughter told her that she was planning on being like Moana and not leaving the ocean when they went to Kingscliff next year. The grieving mother stated that she will never get to see her daughter grow up, and she will forever mourn her life.

I will never forget your birthday or special occasions. I will also miss how you made me feel, and I will never forget how you helped complete me. You are my queen B diva, my Christmas tree’s star, and I will never forget who you were.

Kelly stated that the family would live their lives the way Charlotte wanted them to. They would strive to achieve all that she desired.

According to her parents, they had raised concerns about bullying several times with the school, but no action was taken.

According to Kelly, Charlotte cried one day after she admitted that she was a monster and that she didn’t have friends.

She then wrote an emotional goodbye note and asked her parents to inform the school about the bullying she had endured. Following her death, Kelly released an incredibly moving email she sent to the school.
