The sudden death of Vining, who was the president of the Newtown Jets for many years, has turned what should have been a celebratory moment into a tragedy.
The entire community is in shock following the news of his death, and the members of the team are devastated by his passing.
According to reports, Vining suffered a heart attack while he was watching the game with his family after the Jets defeated the North Sydney Bears.
He reportedly jumped up and celebrated after the team won.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, Vining died. A close friend of the family said that the 85-year-old was very excited about the game and was suddenly experiencing a heart attack.
He was with his wife, Vicki, and his other family members when he suffered the heart attack.
Regrettably, despite the efforts of paramedics, Barry was not able to make it to the hospital.
While the members of the community are devastated by his death, Rob said that it was fitting for him to pass away during the moment that he was most proud of the team.
He believed that if he had to go, Barry would have orchestrated the event in a way that was perfect.
Vining was a part of the community for many years and was a pillar of the team. He grew up in the same area as Johnny Raper, a legendary rugby league player.
He became an active member of the local football club, the Newtown RLFC, during the late 1970s.
Vining became the club’s director in 1980. He then became the president in 1986.
He played a vital role in keeping the team running during its difficult times, such as the years when it had no teams.
Under his leadership, the team was able to re-enter the league in 1991 and won the NSW Cup in 2012.
The presidency held by Vining was regarded as a significant part of the club’s history and resilience.
