This morning, a woman was attacked and critically injured by three pit bulls and two American bulldogs in a backyard in Dandenong, Melbourne.
The incident occurred shortly before 10 am. The woman, who was in her 20s, was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The police attempted to tranquilize the animals using capsicum spray, but this didn’t work.
The police were forced to use their weapons and shot all three of the animals multiple times.
The woman, who was in a critical condition, was rushed to the hospital.
According to witnesses, they heard the woman’s screams for help before the shots were fired. She reportedly said that the dogs were killing her.
According to one of the neighbors, he heard the gunshots and rushed to his house.
It’s believed that the pit bulls belonged to the victim’s partner.
They reportedly had previously been cited by the council for aggressive behavior.
One of the neighbors said that one of the animals had attacked her pet a couple of months ago.
The police noted that they were called to the house earlier in the day due to an unrelated matter.
They are still investigating the incident.
