Nicho Hynes, a Dally M medallist, contributed to a Go Fund Me page created to help Jesse Ramien get his newborn son back home after he was born prematurely.
The page was established by the partner of a teammate of the Sharks player, who was in Bali for a wedding.
Although he was cleared to travel to Bali, the costs of looking after his newborn son, named Teo, have exceeded the insurance policy’s limits.
According to Shauvan Hunt, the cost of bringing the baby back home could reach $130,000.
The child is currently in an incubator at Siloam Hospital and is not expected to be released for some time.
Shell was in early labor after three days in Bali. Despite the efforts of the nurses and doctors at the hospital, she still had to go to the emergency C-section.
She was unable to hold her baby because she was under anaesthesia, and she woke up without her child.
The hospital resuscitated the baby for five minutes before he was sent to the NICU. Jesse and Shell were not able to meet their son until the following morning.
The insurance refused to cover the medical expenses of Teo, and the bill already exceeded $20,000. Shell was discharged from the hospital and is currently paying to stay with her son.
Due to the difficulties they are having in communicating with the doctors, they need to return home to see their son. An urgent medical evacuation would cost around $130,000.
The Australian Embassy, the Sharks, and the National Rugby League are all involved in helping the family get their son back.

Surely the public should not be asked to contribute to this.
