The keyboardist and producer of the Australian band Dragon, Alan Mansfield, died on Wednesday in Sydney at the age of 72.

He passed away due to complications from his ongoing cancer treatment. His partner, Sharon O’Neill, posted a tribute to him on Facebook.

Despite his cancer-free status, the effects of his radiation treatments affected his body.

He was a brave and talented musician who enjoyed 27 years working with the Robert Palmer Band and two decades with the Australian band Dragon.

Dragon musician Alan Mansfield has died, aged 72.

Together with O’Neill, he and the other members of the band worked on various songs for the albums of O’Neill, including Edge of Winter and Danced Into the Fire.

After falling in love with Australia, he returned home.

In 2008, he was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Australian Recording Industry Association and later received an award from the New Zealand Music Hall of Fame.
