The members of heavy metal group Iron Maiden are deeply saddened by the death of vocalist Paul Di’Anno.
He passed away at the age of 66. He sang with the band between 1978 and 1981.
He also contributed to the songs Remember Tomorrow, Sanctuary, and Running Free.
His record label, Conquest Records, announced his death. He was reportedly at his Salisbury home when he died.
In a statement, Iron Maiden bassist Steve Harris said that he was very sad to hear about the musician’s death. He added that he only recently got in touch with him due to their mutual love for West Ham United.
He continued to perform with the band until recently. The members of Iron Maiden said they were devastated by the news.
They called him a pioneering frontman and described him as a great individual.
Paul’s contributions to the band were immense, and he helped set the course for Iron Maiden’s journey for nearly five decades.
His pioneering presence on stage and in the band’s first two albums will be remembered by his fans worldwide.
After they got in touch with Paul, the members of Iron Maiden expressed their condolences to his family. He was a great individual and the band’s entire team is deeply saddened by his death.
He missed a lot of the band’s performances after he was arrested in 1981 for carrying a knife. His strong and aggressive voice helped the band create a more punk-rock sound.
In 1981, he was removed from the band due to his drug use and erratic behavior. Bruce Dickinson replaced him.
Since then, he has continued to perform with Iron Maiden as a guest vocalist. Born in London, Di’Anno had six children.
He then went on to release several solo albums and also worked with other bands, such as Killers and Battlezone.
