An off-duty Perth police officer died after she got caught in the surf at Trigg Beach. Emergency services were dispatched to the beach after receiving reports of a diver reportedly in distress.
An operator told them that they were looking for a missing diver who was around 70 meters from the shore.
After an extensive search, a woman believed to be in her 40s was found and was brought to the shore. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries.
According to one of the witnesses, the emergency services tried to revive the woman, but they were unsuccessful.
The police force of Western Australia confirmed that the off-duty officer was a First Class Constable. The members of the force extend their condolences to her family and friends.

People who knew her were at the beach when the incident happened. A man appeared distressed as a pair of officers helped him.
